Addison DeBoer is from the Portland, Oregon area and did her undergraduate in Biochemistry at Oregon State University. She originally wanted to become a researcher and spent her first year after college working in a microbiology laboratory. After sitting behind a microscope for hours every day, she realized that she wanted a career with more social interaction. She started working as a caregiver, then as a certified nursing assistant (CNA), and loved getting to spend time with residents and patients.
She attended George Fox University for her Physician Assistant master’s degree. Her clinical rotations exposed her to many specialities like endocrinology, rheumatology, and women’s health, but she fell in love with primary care. Her passions are preventative care, chronic care, and working with patients to achieve their health goals.
Outside of medicine, she spends time with her fiancé and two cats. She enjoys hiking, reading, and cooking. She dabbles in knitting, painting, and other crafts.
