McKayla Pollard was born and raised in the Salem area. She attended Western Oregon University for her undergraduate work and in 2019 earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology. McKayla went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies at Oregon Health & Science University. She was able to practice throughout Oregon during the clinical portion of PA school, but was frequently reminded of how much she loved Salem. Since graduating in 2022, McKayla has decided to stay in Salem, Oregon and pursue her dream in becoming a Family Medicine PA.

When she is not at work, McKayla enjoys keeping an active lifestyle with her husband who has recently taught her how to golf and snowboard. She also enjoys working out and wine tasting with her twin sister. McKayla is a member of the Oregon Society of Physician Assistant and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She is excited to join the Praxis Health team at the South Salem Primary Care clinic, and to care for those in her community and empower patients to live healthy, fulfilling lives.
